Commercial Account Handler Role Overview:
The Commercial Account Handler plays a vital role in supporting two Commercial Account Managers by ensuring the retention and growth of an allocated portfolio of commercial clients. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at providing exceptional service and facilitating the smooth operation of client accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Account Managers: Provide daily assistance to Commercial Account Managers, keeping them updated on client policies and portfolio developments.
  • Policy Management: Process renewals, handle queries, manage cover instructions, and execute mid-term amendments and claims for various policy types, including:
    • Commercial Combined
    • Combined Liability
    • Motor Fleet
    • Shops and Offices
    • Property Owners
    • Directors and Officers
    • Cyber
    • Professional Indemnity
  • Market Engagement: Assist in obtaining market terms for new clients and extensions of cover for existing clients.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients, insurers, and colleagues to maintain and manage essential information and documentation effectively.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with key insurance contacts to enhance service delivery.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to compliance standards and relevant codes, such as the Consumer Protection Code 2012.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience in a commercial insurance broking or direct insurer environment is essential.
  • APA / CIP qualification in commercial lines is required, subject to Fitness and Probity Standards.
  • A dedicated team player who prioritizes customer satisfaction and works towards retaining clients through strong relationship management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for effective client and colleague interactions.
