Financial Controller The Company

A growing tech start up based in Dublin. With further expansion plans in 2025 they are looking to recruit a strong accountant who will be tasked with building the finance function from scratch. If successful this person will grow into the Head of Finance over time and will be offered equity in the company

The Role

This is the first hire in the finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing the finance operation in house. This person will be required to:

• Own and grow the complete finance function
• Work closely the Managing Director and help with the future growth of the company
• Manager the AP, AR and Payroll function
• Prepare budgets - annual, monthly, variance analysis.
• Cash management or treasury function, bank reconciliations
• Ensure accounting records are accurate and kept up to date - general ledger, debtors, creditors, bank accounts, tax liabilities
• Liaise with auditors and reviewing financial statements prior to signing
• Ability to produce reports for non-financial managers and to be able to converse with them
• Will be a key member of the senior management team
• Support the sales team for negotiation and bids on future projects
• Implement a fully functioning ERP system and robust reporting systems
• Manage the VAT returns and tax compliance for the business 
• Constantly look for ways to help the company grow and process improvement where you feel necessary
• Ad-hoc duties where and when required to do so

About you

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA)
• 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
• You must be a self starter and an ambitious accountant
• Excellent IT Acumen
• Experience with accounting packages is an advantage e.g Sage, Xero, Oracle or SAP
• Must have strong communication skills
• You will have a high attention to detail
