Role objectives
  • Work with the Head of Events and Fundraising to deliver on fundraising targets for ALFL
  • Secure and maintain long term sustainable funding relationships for ALFL (per agreed targets)
  • Account manage all funder relationships for ALFL in conjunction with the Head of Events and Fundraising (and other ALFL leaders where appropriate)
  • Ensure effective and timely fundraising administration and maintenance of funder data
  • Support the Head of Events and Fundraising in effective project management, admin and logistics for all ALFL fundraising events

Role responsibilities

Overall
  • Operate as positive, authentic and passionate ambassador for A Lust for Life and its work
  • Pro-actively role model, promote and safeguard ALFL values in every interaction within ALFL and with every individual and organisation ALFL connects with
  • Pro-actively represent ALFL as required – with funders/ partners /media/events/speaking gigs/fundraising activity on an as-needed basis
  • Pro-actively manage and protect the external reputation of ALFL in all activities
  • Support Head of Events and Fundraising where needed to define and deliver upon strategy and budget
  • Support Head of Events and Fundraising where needed to prepare accurate reporting to defined standards and frequency
  • Support Head of Events and Fundraising in ad hoc event and fundraising activity where needed

Funder/Donor Recruitment
  • Secure target number of charity partners per annum 
  • Recruit target number of teams for Float Your Boat per annum
  • Support Head of Events & Fundraising to secure headline sponsor and partners for Float Your Boat and other ALFL events

Funder/Donor Engagement
  • Pro-actively respond to & resolve any queries or issues (internal & external) as they emerge
  • Ensure effective and respectful communications & relationship management (internal & external)
  • Pro-actively account manage defined ALFL relationships (e.g., partners or funders) as agreed in annual plan
  • Manage comms and engagement with teams for Float Your Boat

Trusts/Foundations/Grants
  • Define annual target list of Trusts and Foundations funding – secure funding per annual target
  • Define and secure any grants available to ALFL
  • Ensure effective and timely reporting with all Trust and Foundation supporters

Event management
  • Support the Head of Events and Fundraising in effective project management, admin and logistics for all ALFL fundraising events

Fundraising administration and CRM management
  • Work with Head of Events and Fundraising to define and maintain (effectively using ALFL CRM system) an inventory of current and potential supporters of ALFL – including all individuals and organisations who could be:
    • Sound Supper attendees
    • Charity Partners
    • Teams for Float Your Boat
    • Philanthropists
  • Oversee annual calendar of fundraising prompts 
  • Oversee management of donor/funder emails and reporting
  • Ensure consistent storage of all ALFL documentation on ALFL shared drive in all activity

Compliance and Risk
  • Ensure can speak knowledgeably about governance structures and approach of ALFL
  • Ensure ALFL compliance (statutory, regulatory, CRA, CRO) in all activity
  • Ensure effective risk management in all activity
  • Ensure ALFL is compliant with the Governance Code in all activity
  • Ensure contracts are in place for all work – prior to work starting
  • Ensure adherence to ALFL policies and procedures in all activity

KPIs
  • Delivery of defined fundraising targets
  • Effective relationship and account management
  • Current funder data on ALFL CRM
